The mission of PRIDE-Omaha, Inc. is to prevent the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs (ATOD) by youth. Our goal is to activate parents, other adults and youth by raising awareness and by educating the community regarding the effects on and the danger to youth caused by the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs and to encourage public policy which supports a safe, drug-free lifestyle.
PRIDE-Omaha, Inc. believes that....
Prevention is a proactive process that empowers individuals and systems to meet the challenges of life's events and transitions by creating and reinforcing conditions that promote healthy behaviors and lifestyles.
"True drug prevention is possible ONLY when every segment of society supports and enforces clear, consistent "NO USE" messages and policies regarding the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs by young people." -John Crudele, motivational speaker, Minneapolis, MN, 1993.

PRIDE-Omaha, Inc. has developed one of the largest and most comprehensive drug prevention resource centers in the country. We continue to be the local distribution center for primary drug prevention materials produced and distributed through the federal government prevention services. We have developed our own drug prevention materials and discovered excellent handouts and brochures from other agencies and organizations around the country. Our Resource Review Committee of nationally-recognized specialists evaluates all new information to insure that all drug- prevention materials in our resource center are completely accurate, culturally sensitive and up to date. Our resource center has over 150 videos and 650 books to loan. Most public and many private school districts in the Omaha metropolitan area support our efforts through district memberships.
