YOUNG PEOPLE

CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

YOU CAN HELP CREATE A SAFE, HEALTHY, DRUG-FREE ENVIRONMENT:

Œ  Make a commitment to yourself to stay drug-free and make smart choices.

Pick friends who share your commitment to be drug-free and smart.

Ž   Don’t be afraid to say that you are drug-free.

Don’t go to parties or other places where alcohol or other drugs are being used by young people. To do so puts your stamp of approval on drugs.

Take positive actions to make your world safer and drug-free:

© Join or start a drug-free group.

© Attend drug-free conferences and rallies.

© Offer to work with law enforcement on compliance checks.

© Work on special projects such as "Operation Storefront," Red Ribbon Drug Prevention Month

© Talk to legislators and policy makers.

© Call the M.I.P. Hotline, 393-4444, to report those who provide alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, other drugs or weapons to kids.

© Talk to parents, teachers and counselors about how to get more involved, to encourage special class projects, etc.
